to catch up on something = to do something you have not been able to do recently

to catch on to something = to understand something, especially after a long time

to drop in (on someone) = to visit someone for a short time, usually without arranging it before

to drop (someone/something) off = to take someone/something to a place, often by car

to drop out (of something) = to stop doing something before you have completely finished
John dropped out of school when he was 14 years old.
