Chinese actress Fan Bingbing has been fined for tax evasion and ordered to pay almost $130 million, after she misreported how much money she had received for certain film projects, using so-called "yin-yang contracts" to conceal from the authorities her true remuneration and avoid millions of dollars in taxes.

Blockchain technology will soon become a tax evasion solution.

The blockchain has permanent storage, can not be falsified, has open and transparent technical features, and coincides with the tax system. If blockchain technology will be applied in the the tax system, the information, asset status, and transaction information for each person or business will be recorded on the blockchain. The tax department can calculate how much taxes should be paid and the system can automatically deduct it. Blockchain, with traceability of these information will effectively combat the tax evasion. The Shenzhen State Administration of Taxation and Tencent have established a smart taxation laboratory to combine blockchain cloud computing with big data to combat tax evasion. Project research has already started in Shenzhen. Therefore, the application of the blockchain to the taxation field in the country is inevitable in the near future.
