Inversion after adverbials (part 2)
Инверсия используется, если предложение начинается с:
🔸seldom, rarely, little (with a negative meaning),
barely, nowhere,
never (before), nor/neither.
▫️Rarely do I visit a city more than once.
▫️Never before had I seen anything so beautiful. - Никогда раньше я не видел ничего более прекрасного.
🔸 scarcely (ever)... when,
hardly (ever)... when,
no sooner ... than,
not only ... but (also),
not (even) once.
🔸on no occasion, on no account.
▫️On no account should you leave the town. - Ни в коем случае тебе нельзя уезжать из города.
🔸in/under no circumstances, in no way, only in this way.
▫️Under no circumstances are passengers permitted to open the doors themselves. - Ни в коем случае пассажирам не разрешается самостоятельно открывать двери.
