⏰7.30am: The Queen starts her day bright and early, with a pot of freshly brewed tea, and a few biscuits. She tunes in to BBC Radio 4’s Today programme. 

⏰8.30am: Breakfast with the Duke of Edinburgh is served: cereal, yoghurt and maple syrup. The Queen then scans the morning papers.

⏰9am: A piper plays some bagpipes - traditional start to every weekday.

⏰Time for work: The Queen has plenty to keep her busy. She receives up to 300 letters from the public each day. Official Cabinet documents are passed on to the Queen. She reads and signs some of them. Mornings can also be a time for private meetings. She then takes her beloved dogs for their morning walk.

⏰Lady at lunch: Lunch at Buckingham Palace is usually eaten alone. At other times, the Queen will enjoy lunch with her big family. 

⏰5pm: Tea is served with sandwiches, scones and her favourite Dundee cake. After tea, Her Majesty spends another hour at her desk.

⏰8.30pm: The Queen is a fan of Coronation Street and also does jigsaw puzzles and crosswords or plays Scrabble to relax. But ever conscientious, she does not switch off from work completely.

⏰11pm: It’s time for the Queen to rest, but not before writing a page of her diary, which she has kept since the beginning of her reign.
